EVERYDAY 2PM-5PM and LUNCH FROM 1PM-2PM
ATTEND THE SUMMER PROGRAMMING TO EARN POINTS ON YOUR SUMMER HEALTHSTARS CARD!
Mondays: Drop in and play some games in our youth center.
Tuesdays:
2pm: Color it Up: Express your creativity with fun art activities.
3:30pm: Workshop: A day dedicated to teach you about healthy living. From cooking yummy meals with your friends to discussions and workshops about relationships and issues important to you, Stay Live Tuesdays will help you be happier and healthier every day.
Wednesdays:
2pm: Bellydancing: have fun while learning to shimmy –beginners welcome!
3:30pm: DIVAZ: A group for young women (18-24) to keep it real and discuss issues that are important to them in a confidential, supportive space.
Thursdays:
2pm: Relax and melt away your stress through our beginners yoga class.
3:30pm: Young Divaz: A group for girls 13 to 17 years old to keep it real and discuss issues that are important to them in a confidential, supportive space.
Fun Fridays:
2PM: Boyz group
3:30PM: Drop in for some fun to end your long week! Stop by for some movies, games and even a Wii tournament.
Other Activities:
3rd Street Youth Outreach Squad: 10 youth are trained extensively in STI prevention and outreach techniques. The youth in the squad make presentations about STIs at high schools around the city, pass out condoms and sexual health literature at various venues and conduct agency outreach about our medical and behavioral health services at community events.
Girls’ Group: A young women’s leadership group that integrates skill building and personal development activities. Topics include: roots of violence, personal strengths, self-care, power and oppression, civic engagement, community awareness, and academic and professional goal setting. These group takes place at 3rd Street and at local high schools.
Youth Action Board: This group of youth leaders provides input into 3rd Street programming and organizes a Spring Youth Health Summit.
