Aliya moved to the Bay Area 7 years ago from Texas. She came here for graduate school and made the bay her new home. From a young age, Aliya has been involved with issues related to youth and families including family violence, sex, mental health, and more. She worked with refugee and immigrant victims of domestic violence and trafficking; has spent time providing individual, family, and group therapy to young people and families in schools, hospitals, and in-home. Aliya advocates for the youth and families she works with, whatever the concern may be. In addition the her career, Aliya spends a large amoung of time volunteering within her community including leading a program to decrease stigma around mental health. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, dancing, relaxing by the beach, and traveling.
